Transformative Youth Programs

Street Outreach

Throughout each site, there is an outward street presence on the streets in their local community to assist with preventing violence and crime. Every two weeks on Friday night, pastors, volunteers, and staff will go onto the streets in their city. This will only occur during warm weather. The staff, pastors, and faith-based community will assemble themselves at a faith-based facility. The groups will walk into the neighborhoods and approach those who are on the streets. The groups will speak to those who are willing to speak and offer prayer and information about the multiplicity of services that are available. The outreach efforts are intended to recruit participants to the program and to provide counseling and solace to the larger community. They have an additional effect as well, which is connected with personnel. The law enforcement partners concur that these walks help to diffuse tension and deter crime.
